Avoid this garage!!!!
Misdiagnosed twice (at my expense), lack of communication, terrible service and then they forgot to put a part back before giving my car back!
My car was taken to Motorrific by the RAC who couldnt get it started. The RAC said it definitely wasnt the battery however the mechanic at Motoriffic was convinced it was so replaced with a new battery, without checking anything else. After a couple of days, the car wouldnt start again so it was taken back. I was then told it was the glow plugs and it wouldnt take long to fix. 48 hours went by with no update so I decided to ring the garage only to be told the glow plugs had been replaced but it was still not starting properly. I had to chase every day and they kept promising my car would be looked at soon. They didnt even look at my car until 4 days later when they finally diagnosed the issue. We were told they needed to order a part, which would arrive on the Monday, and it would be ready for collection on this day.
On the Monday, we phoned and were told the part hadnt arrived. When explaining that the communication was disappointing and questioning why we had been promised Monday when this wasnt guaranteed, I was rudely spoken to on the phone. I explained my partner was in hospital and I needed my car and I was told to come get my car and he wouldnt do the work. He then proceeded to hang up on me. An extremely stressful time in which I didnt need the further stress of someone so insensitive. After phoning back, they agreed to carry out the work however the car wasnt ready until the Friday that week.
I picked up the car (900 later) and realised on the way home that steam was coming out of the bonnet. They had forgotten to put a part back in! We rang them on the Monday (as they were closed over the weekend) to question this, only to be told theyd post it and wed have to wait until Wednesday. They didnt apologise and didnt even seem embarrassed that theyd forgotten to put part of my car back in! We insisted it was delivered as we needed the part and it was delivered at 9pm that night.
Still no apology for the appalling service. The mechanic kept saying I dont do this for the money however I struggle to understand what he does it for as he clearly doesnt do it for the customer service!
I understand mistakes happen, everyone is human. The lack of communication and terrible service however has been disgusting.
Avoid this garage at all costs unless you want horrendous service, a cowboy job, a hefty fee (from them not being able to diagnose properly) and no car for weeks. The mechanic is arrogant, poor at his job and extremely rude. Take your money elsewhere. Ill be spreading the word!
