What do you want from the people who service your car? Words like 'honest, 'reliable' and 'great value for money' probably spring to mind, don't they? You want your mechanic to be someone you can call whenever you have the slightest concern about your car, without worrying that they'll be charging up a fat fee just to 'have a look'.
You want the confidence that when you're told a part is wearing out, it really is nearing the end of its life and you're not being charged to replace something that's got plenty of mileage left in it.You want to drive away knowing that you and your car have been well-treated and with the confidence that you can go back with any query or question, however trivial it might be.
If this is what you want from the people who care for your car, then why not pay a visit to RM Motors? See for yourself whether what we do matches our words on this website. In the good old days the majority of vehicle faults could be diagnosed by a mechanic putting their head under the bonnet.

Services
Chances are, if you turn up unannounced at the workshop, you'll find Rob wrestling with a knotty problem on a car, or deep in conversation with a customer.
He's run bigger garages in the past and deliberately chosen to go back to a smaller operation because it means he can focus on doing what he loves, which is fixing problems and making customers happy.
Most of Rob's business has been won by word of mouth.
When someone experiences the excellent service he provides they're quick to tell their friends.

Over recent years tyre pressure monitoring systems have become more popular.
Two types of system are in use.
The first is a passive system, this uses the ABS systems vehicle speed sensors to determine different wheel speeds thus calculating if a tyre has lost pressure.
The second is an active system which has a sensor inside the tyre and transmits data to the control module and displaying faults to the driver.
Each of these systems require dedicated procedure's on wheel, Tyre, and sensor, replacements to avoid problems.

Diesel Particulate filters can be found on all Diesel vehicles running Euro 5 emission standards, and some vehicle manufacturer's also installed these in vehicles before the standards were enforced, Two types of system are used, A dry system which uses no fuel additive, and a wet system that does.
The wet system additive tank is placed next to the fuel tank, and every time the vehicle is re filled with fuel, the additive is automatically mixed as required.
The wet system can be confused with the AdBlue system, which can also be fitted to the exhaust.

Mazda's diesel particulate filter works in the same way that most other manufacturer's systems work, (please see 'diesel particulate filter' section on this site) but with some slight difference's.
The main difference is the engine control module measures the amount of regeneration's the DPF has carried out, and due to the process, diesel fuel can enter the sump mixing with the engine oil.
If this is left unchecked the engine oil can overfill the sump leading to engine damage.
So if the engine oil is getting excessively diluted the DPF lamp will come on to request an oil change.
